Sex offender found with child porn 4 weeks post release
INDIANAPOLIS — A convicted sex offender was caught with child sexual abuse material while on probation, only four weeks after having been released from jail, according to the Department of Justice.
Tyler Edward Davis, 35, was sentenced to 140 months, or 11 years and 6 months, in federal prison after pleading guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material.
“Not even one month after being sentenced to probation for possession of child sexual abuse material, the defendant began collecting more heinous material, including images depicting the graphic sexual abuse of toddlers,” said Zachary A. Myers, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.

According to court documents, Davis was convicted of two counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material in August of 2022. One month into his probation, officers conducted a field test and discovered Davis had an unapproved smartphone. During an initial search of the phone, officers found inappropriate search history that included, “8-year-old bikini model” and “underground content.” Davis removed his GPS ankle bracelet and fled after the officer found the phone and search history.
In a further investigation, officers found several other extremely graphic searches with images and videos that contained minors, incest, violence, adult men raping toddlers, and bestiality.
“There is no higher law enforcement priority than protecting our children from those who would do them harm. We will continue to work closely with our partners at the FBI to hold child sex offenders accountable and removing them from our communities.”
Davis will also face a lifetime of supervised parole.
